In early 2023, the City of Monroe adopted the 2023 - 2026 Economic Development Strategic Plan.  This 24 page document identifies the roles, priorities, guiding principles, and focus areas that will build a successful and sustainable development program over the next three years.  

The ED Strategic Plan builds upon City Council's strategic priorities of Strategic Growth and Development and Communication and Interpersonal Connections.  Other important strategic priorities include Well-managed Services & Infrastructure and Parks & Connectivity.  

The Monroe Area CIC is vital to the successful implementation of this plan.  Using the statutory tools available to them, the Board of Trustees is continuously evaluating Action Items under each of the plan's Focus Areas to ensure that the City is firmly founded but still proudly growing.
